Professors of economics at UC Berkeley and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania are seeking a Research Coordinator who will oversee projects at the forefront of behavioral and public economics. The position entails analyzing public and private data sets using statistical packages such as Stata and performing numerical simulations using languages such as Matlab. The Research Coordinator will work closely with Principal Investigators, using collaborative tools like GitHub to manage projects and tasks. Additionally, the researcher will be an integral part of the research process, performing literature reviews, drafting research reports, and generally shepherding the publication process.
Bachelor's Degree required, including some experience with academic research. A strong background in economics, statistics, and/or applied mathematics, and familiarity with Stata, Matlab, and Python is strongly preferred. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and self-directed, adept at self-teaching technical skills from online tutorials and with an interested in continuing on to a graduate degree in economics. This is a one year position, with the possibility of extending to two years. Position is contingent upon funding. Position will be based in Philadelphia, PA.
